Born in Coatbridge, Scotland but lives on Achill Island, Ireland. Maria loves to write in various forms but her favourite is fiction and poetry. Her inspirations are James Joyce and Sylvia Plath as they are so open with their works. Maria loves to write about mental health and character studies. For the past three years, she has been studying Writing and Literature at ATU and has found that this course has given her the confidence to express herself through her work and share it with others. She has been sharing her work at the Word in Sligo County Library and has been recently included in the Scrimshaw literary journal. Maria would highly recommend this course to writers who want to take their love for literature to a higher level as this course opens so many doors to so many genres of writing.
