ARCHITECTURE ON TOUR

Interior Architecture and Design students travelled to Dublin on the 23rd November to visit the British Contract Furniture Association’s (BCFA) Expo. The event where over 30 international leading manufacturers of interior furnishings exhibited their latest products attracts hundreds of professionals every year. Students had an opportunity to liaise with professionals and learn first-hand about the latest products, materials and their application in the commercial setting.

The BCFA organisers’ feedback was very positive: they were impressed with IAD students’ enquiry, professionalism and are very grateful that IAD staff recognised this event and established links with the profession.

Students also visited the Housing Unlocked exhibition organised by Irish Architecture Federation. The exhibition examines the potential of Irish existing built heritage to be reused as housing. Interior Architecture focuses strongly on sustainable solutions and creative re-use of our built environment.
