LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!

It was a busy summer for ATU YADDA lecturer Ciarán McCauley who performed in a show entitled “In Pieces” this was a cabaret of poetry, drama prose and installation with live music. The piece was directed and produced by Rhona Trench a YADDA colleague, Rhona also wrote four drama pieces for the show. It was presented in The Dock, Carrick -on- Shannon and in the Black Box on the ATU Campus. Two of our YADDA Performing Arts students, Mia Blake and Ivan Crosbie were also part of the production as interns on the project along with contributions from Mary Blake an MA student.

July saw Ciarán perform the role of King Conchubar in Blue Raincoat Theatre Company’s production of On Bailes Strand, by WB Yeats, this production was part of the Cairde Arts Festival and was performed outdoors on Cummen Strand.

Along with a week long residency in the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Annamakerrig, researching a new project based on the works and life of Brendan Behan.  WELL DONE to Ciaran and colleagues.
